Kinesio Taping

Kinesio® taping originated in Japan 35 years ago. It has recently been taught in New Zealand by instructors from the international Kinesio® taping organization. Linley is currently the Certified Kinesio® Tape Instructor (CKTI) in New Zealand.

Kinesio® tape is a revolutionary taping method and the tape is latex free which produces some amazing results.

Kinesio® Tex Tape Has The Ability To:

  • Re-educate the neuromuscular system
  • Reduce pain
  • Enhance performance
  • Prevent injury
  • Promote good circulation and healing

Kinesio® Tex taping can be used for a wide variety of conditions, and is suitable for all ages, it will not limit normal range of movement. Because it is latex free it is able to stay on longer and not give the skin irritations other taping methods do.

Some of the conditions we regularly tape are whiplash, lumber strains, poor posture, imbalances, knee, ankle and shoulder injuries, elbow and wrist problems.

Linley receiving her Instructors Certificate from Dr Kenzo Kase in Milan, Italy.

Linley is also the New Zealand distributor for Kinesio® Tape.

Testimonies

Hannah (Hamilton)
"I'm Hannah Croad, New Zealand's number 1 ranked beach volleyballer, and I rely on Linley at Hands on Physio to keep me in optimum shape year round. Over summer in the peak of my season I sustained an elbow injury and was told by a number of different physios that I would need absolute rest for at least a month. Then I went to Linley; she used a mixture of Trigenics, acupuncture, Kinesio Taping and standard physio and had me playing with my elbow at an international level tournament within a week. Since this first encounter I was converted, and would recommend Linley, Hands On Physio and most of all Trigenics® to any person no matter how active, that wants to keep a happy and healthy body."

Juliette Harmsworth
"Over the years I suffered from a few injuries and have been treated as a patient by Linley Leuthard of ‘Hands On Physio’. Recently I have been treated using kinesio taping. Kinesio taping was used with general physiotherapy to reduce the swelling, inflammation and pain in my ankle. With kinesio® tape recovery time was reduced by half, resulting in returning to normality. I highly recommend trying Kinesio® taping with new or existing injuries."

Darren (Hamilton)
"I had a shoulder injury and kinesio® tape gave me many benefits. Added strength, improved flexibility, and no skin reaction, specific muscle groups to work individually and retain full range of movement. I found if I looked after the tape it lasted longer than standard tape. I also had it for my Achilles tendon injury which gave strong support with good flexibility. It resulted in my ability to return to sport faster."

Megan (Hamilton)
"I have suffered with Achilles tendonitis and muscle imbalances generally in my body and core instability. Prior to having Kinesio tape I had pain while I was running, now with using Kinesio® tape I have no pain during exercise, and minimal or no pain afterwards. Because I have no pain I can recover quicker and run longer distances than before and have taken valuable minutes off my training runs. It has helped my posture! Love the colours!"

Karlene Kingi (Whangarei)
Since playing basketball I always struggled with both of my ankles because of all the traction and movement. I have sprained both ankles countless times it is not funny. After seeing Linley amd having her perform her "magic" Trigencis® followed by Kinesio taping I haven't had one problem with either ankle. I live in Whangarei and I refuse to see any other physio up here so i make trips down to Hamilton just to see Linley because I know I will be taken care of.
